Every seventh year on the Jewish Calendar is a Shm'ta Year, a Sabbath year , a year of rest to the land according to the Torah, or Law, of God. In the Holy land, the Shm'ta year is mostly observed with all its laws and practices. According to the Jewish Calendar, we are in the year 5782 from Creation .
